ABOUT ME:

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog. I am Yiğit Ege Alp. I am 22 years old and I am a sophomore at TED University in Ankara. I hope I will be a teacher when I graduate from TEDU in 2027. I am doing my best in order to be an excellent teacher because being a teacher is a holly job in every society. I always do my homework, I am never late to school. I try to get on well with my teachers and classmates. We are a good team together, yeap!

My hobbies are , reading books, going to the theatre, doing sports and cooking with my mum. By the way, I really love my family. I have a twin brother and we always have fun together. His name is Mertcan. He graduated from Başkent University from the department of Turkish Language and Literature. My brother is an honest, helpful, kind person. He does not tell lies, he finds solutions to solve people's problems. Also, he never uses slangs.

My father is a retired soldier. He is generally at home. I like talking about politics, economy with him. And my mother, she is a gift for our family. She is a super woman who cares for us a lot. She is talkative, beautiful, considerate. She is a very successful businesswoman. She always knows the song in my heart and sings it back to me when I forget some words of it.

And what about me? These days, I am questioning life in Turkey. There are too many problems such as poverty, murders but believe me my friends, better days will come!  All of us will live happily with our wives, husbands and children if we carry out our responsibilities as citizens.😉 I have been to Germany, Greece, and Netherlands so far. I am going to visit more countries to meet different people from all over the world. Traveling makes me feel alive and free.

5TH WEEK BLOG: WEB 2.0 TOOLS FOR MODERN TEACHING (COURSERA)

Before starting the topic, I will briefly talk about what I learnt from the course and the difficulties I encountered and try to explain what I learned with the help of the videos I watched. I have learnt the importance of integrating Web 2.0 tools in education and how to use these tools with the right strategies. I believe that this knowledge will help me to develop more effective and interactive methods in education. In particular, I have realised the importance of selecting the tools that suit the needs of the students and implementing these tools step by step. However, I face some difficulties in determining which tools are the most appropriate and learning how to use these tools in the best way in my lessons. These difficulties are minor difficulties caused by using any web 2.0 tool for the first time or not fully understanding how to use it. In this process, I think I can solve the problems by improving myself through continuous practice as well as getting support from my col...

WEEK 8: COMIC STRIP DEVELOPMENT AND ANALYSIS

1. Describe how you developed ComicStrip activity. I developed the ComicStrip activity by first determining the topic of the story, which was digital storytelling. I chose this topic because it would attract students' interest and meet my learning goals. I then wrote the outline and dialogues, ensuring the story was fluent and understandable. I selected and drew visuals to support the story, making sure they were educational and interesting. Using digital tools like Storyjumper, I created the story digitally, which made it more interactive and visually rich. After completing the story, I received feedback from my peers and teacher, which I used to edit and improve the story. 2.  Do you think that the story of the ComicStrip and your learning objectives are parallel? Yes, the story of the ComicStrip and my learning objectives are parallel. The ComicStrip was designed to teach the elements and process of digital storytelling, which aligns with my learning objectives.   For ex...
